Hi friends,
We have lift-off 🚀
Minimum Viable Video has officially opened its doors for enrollment on Monday.
Up until that point, we’ve been sending our subscribers emails for weeks with valuable content around how to use videos to grow your business and accelerate your career.
In addition to providing useful information, the goal of these emails was to get our subscribers into the right mindset for what we’re sharing with them this week.
Because now, we’re switching from marketing emails to sales emails.
In true building-in-public fashion, I want to show you what our sales email sequence looks like.
You can even read the emails we’ve already sent out:
- Mon – Enrollment opens
- Tue – What you’ll get out of the course
- Wed – Case studies
- Thu – Frequently asked questions
- Fri – Who is this perfect for
- Sat – What’s on your mind?
- Sun – Last chance, enrollment closing
If you’re curious to learn more about the course, check out our sales page here. Of course, I’d love to have you join us in this cohort.
Now here’s what I want to share with you this week:
✍️ Copywriting
But that only works if…
You’ve got to keep showing up
What if I tweet too much? What if I email my subscribers too often? Will people get annoyed and leave? Not sharing enough is actually worse than sharing too much. Here’s why.
🤓 Online Courses
Why every cohort-based course needs note-takers
I love taking notes! My second brain is packed with scribbles, screenshots, and chat comments from every online course I’ve taken. What if these notes wouldn’t stay hidden but would be accessible for all students and even shared on social media? Everyone wins!! Here’s why
We’ll experiment with having an “official note-taker” in Minimum Viable Video this cohort. In exchange for being the note-taker, this person will get to take the course for free. Check out Cam’s video about this.
📈 Productivity
During my weekly review every Sunday, I write down all that went well in the last week. It often surprises me how big my list gets.
My favorite lines from Discipline Equals Freedom by Jocko Willink
I’ve been rereading Discipline Equals Freedom at least once a year. And whenever I’m feeling down, unmotivated, or unsure, I just have to pick a random page, and Jocko’s words never fail to build me back up. Here are my favorite lines from the book.
Virtual hugs from “stay-at-home-order” Toronto,
Julia
PS: For the last 2 days I’ve been attending a virtual copywriting conference called “The Copywriter Club: (Not) In Real Life” …because it’s usually supposed to take place IRL 😅
I’m learning about fixing funnels, pitching podcasts, crafting high-converting launch strategies, customer journey mapping…and the Ogilvy formula to becoming a famous copywriter.
(Fun fact: David Ogilvy lived in a castle and regularly wore a cape. That’s how you become famous!)
Now I’ve got notes upon notes piled up that are just waiting to be tweeted out 🐣
