Hi friends,
What an exciting week!
The On Deck Course Creator Fellowship officially kicked off. I already met a whole bunch of amazing course creators and led my first peer supporter session.
The potential in this community is surreal!
Also, we’re welcoming 26 new students (and 12 alumni) to the second cohort of Minimum Viable Video that’s starting on Monday. 🚀
I’m getting everything ready on the backend to make sure everyone is having a great time!
Remember, we want students to feel challenged but never confused (one of my favorite David Perell quotes).
Now here’s what I want to share with you this week:
✍️ Copywriting
“Who is not a good fit for your product?” is a question every creator should be able to answer confidently. But that only works if…
The 3 things you must know about your audience
(and how to uncover them)
The more you know about the people you serve…
- The easier you’ll develop solutions they’re excited to buy
- The faster you can write copy that resonates
- And the better your products will sell
Here are the 3 main things you want to uncover and the questions to help you do it.
🤓 Online Courses
What really enables your students’ transformation in your cohort-based course (it’s likely not your content)
It’s tempting to dive right into the content when you’re kicking off your cohort. After all, you want to give your students what they came for. But not so fast! They need something else first: Psychological Safety!
And what’s a great way to create psychological safety? Icebreakers!! Yes, seriously. The dreaded team building activity is making a digital comeback and people *actually* love it. My friend Gwyn wrote an exceptionally insightful edition of her newsletter about the why and how of icebreakers. Go check it out!
(And follow her if you want to learn from an expert facilitator who creates learning experiences for a living.)
📈 Productivity
The struggle is real!

PS: Today is the 60th day of me writing and publishing daily atomic essays on Twitter 📆🥳
The last week was tough, though, and I was veeeery tempted to skip a day or two. But I made it through…somehow.
If you want to catch up with the whole bunch, you can find all essays in this thread.
