This newsletter just turned 1 ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰

Hi friends,

My ‘Scale Your Impact’ newsletter is turning 1 ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰

I can’t believe it’s been 52 weeks since I sent the very first one to 10 people last summer during Write of Passage.

The first edition was titledย “What makes copywriting the most profitable skill in business?”ย and the structure looked vastly different from what you see now.ย You can read it here if you’re curious.ย โ€‹

Since then, the subscriber count has grown to 356. The average open rate is 56.7% and the emails have an 18% click rate.

I truly appreciate every single one of you opening and reading what I put together every week ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฅฐ And I love getting replies.

Now I have a small ask:

If you’ve gotten value from this newsletter, would you share a short testimonial with me?

I want to feature it on the newsletter landing page to help more people.

I’d really appreciate it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ!

Now, here’s what I want to share with you this week.

โœ๏ธ Copywriting

โ€‹Are you matching your reader’s expectations? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

People donโ€™t land on your page with a parachute…coming out of nowhere. They’ve clicked something that led them there.ย Whatever theyโ€™ve seen beforehand has created certain expectations in their heads.ย Here’s an easy way to make sure you’re always fulfilling them.

โ€‹The Copywriter’s Guide to the Galaxyโ€‹

Kjell V. put together everything he’s learned about copywriting on one page. It covers copywriting principles, audience research, landing pages, and email marketing. If you’re looking for a quick entry into the world of copywriting, this is it!

๐Ÿค“ Online Courses

How to structure your online course: Developing your curriculum

It all makes sense in your head.ย But whenever you try to turn your thoughts into an outline for your course, things get slippery.ย So, how do you approach curriculum design? Here’s a 3-step process.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Productivity

Over the last weekend, I spent 4 glorious days in Berlin.

During that time, I didn’t write any atomic essays, I didn’t check Twitter, and I only sporadically opened my emails.

What I did do: walked 67k steps and biked several kilometers through the German capital during the most wonderful summer weather, went to a museum, saw a movie in the cinema, watched the sunset with a cocktail in hand, followed the final of the Euro cup, ate a ton of ice cream…

And I met more people IRL that I know from various online courses.

Taking the days off felt awesome!

So, when it was time to come back to my usual routine, I felt some resistance. (Is that a sign that I need more time off?)

One forcing function was this newsletter! I wanted to have fresh atomic essays to share with you, so I had to get back to writing quickly.

And as soon as I started, I got the joy and energy from writing and publishing back!

Starting is always the hardest part.

It’s back to business,

Julia
