The Research Habit and Twitter Magic

Hi friends,

I signed up for Twitter in 2008 (!) in my second year in college. Besides a few embarrassing early tweets (which I’ve since deleted), my account has been dormant for 12 long years.

3 weeks ago I reactivated it (again thanks to Write of Passage) and started sharing almost daily. I noticed pretty quickly why everyone is raving about Twitter as a great platform to meet people …

This Tweetstorm received a mindboggling 142,847 impressions and 14,743 engagements. It led to some interesting conversations with people I’d never met before.

So, Twitter works!

Here’s what I want to share with you this week:

Your Actionable Copywriting Tip

Clarity is key in copywriting. You don’t want your reader to feel confused or lost. So, how can you be more clear?

Stick with the classic: X verb Y. This sentence is clear. You understand me.

Don’t ever open a paragraph with a complex sentence.

Use a complex sentence only intentionally if you want to make something sound complex.

Tool of the Week: Full Page Screen Capture
