On launching, rackets & decision-making

Hi friends,

What a week!!

Two cool things happened…

First, we wrapped up the second cohort of Minimum Viable Video and celebrated our students and their videos in our Film Festival 🎬 🎉.

It was a blast, and I’m excited to see what our students will continue to achieve with their videos. I know they’re on the right path: Just check out this video from Karthi raking up thousands of views on LinkedIn.

Second, I launched my first self-paced mini-course in cooperation with eduflow: How to create a transformative course that your learners want to complete 🚀

It’s my actionable system to improve your student success and course completion rates by discovering what your students want and need.

While I slowly come down from this high of excitement, please enjoy what I’ve prepared for you today:

✍️ Copywriting

5 fresh ideas to simplify editing and improve your writing

Let’s be honest: Writing can be exhausting. And you know you’re not done yet. You’ve got to edit your piece. But the thought of having to spend more time staring at the same Google Doc can be daunting. So, here are 5 fresh ideas to make editing easier for you.

🤓 Online Courses

How to launch your course even if you don’t feel ready

You’ll never feel ready. There’s still so much to learn. So much to research. So much to strategize. But maybe, what you know now is enough. Here’s why launching your course before you’ve every single detail figured out pays off.

4 tips for starting an online course from Lauren Valdez

Lauren helped create Building a Second Brain with her husband Tiago and runs her own courses. In this article, she shares her advice from multiple 6-figure launches:

  1. Don’t try to model the top course creators without an audience.
  2. When you don’t have an audience, go personal.
  3. Make your course as niche as possible.
  4. Just ship it

This is gold!

📈 Productivity

What should I work on? How to make better decisions as a creator

We have almost infinite options of things to work on, rabbit holes to go down, and opportunities to pursue. It’s a blessing and a curse at the same time. So I asked my mentor Pauline: How do I know which are the right options to pursue? Here’s the advice she gave me

Daily Journal Prompts

I’ve been writing morning pages for a while now. And often, I’m having trouble getting into the flow. Luckily, I just have to check my emails to find Chris Harry’s daily journal prompt. It’s a concrete question I can reflect on and that gets me going. I can highly recommend subscribing to this!

PS: Today, my friend Ritesh interviewed me on Racket about creating transformative courses.

What’s a racket, you ask?

Great question! I’d describe it as an instant podcast.

It’s an audio recording that’s maximum 9 minutes long (no idea why the creators chose 9 minutes exactly, but I like the constraint). You can record yourself or with a friend, and it’s published instantly.

Racket is still in beta, and you need an invite code to join (or 10 followers). Curious to see if this is going to be the next big thing.

If you’ve got 9 minutes to spare, you can listen to my racket with Ritesh here.
