Hi friends,
“Let’s do an icebreaker!!!”
Who has heard that at a start of a team event and immediately wished they had overslept?
✋Definitely me.
But, I just attended a virtual icebreaker event which was surprisingly fun, refreshing, and non-cringy.
Write of Passage hosted it to help our students in the current cohort (which started last week) get to know each other better.
The platform is literally called Icebreaker, where you switch between the main room, small groups, and 1:1 conversations. There’s a chat, music, and fun questions to talk about. One of the best features is that your camera isn’t always on, so you can relax in between.
If you’re planning a happy hour for your team or meet and greet for your online course, check it out. Looks like it’s free for up to 40 participants.
Now here’s what I want to share with you this week:
✍️ Copywriting
And if you write every day, your customers will keep you top of mind and likely come to you when they need help.
My 6 favorite free copywriting resources
This is by far my most successful atomic essay to date, with over 2,100 likes and 406 retweets on Twitter. If you want to learn more about the most profitable skill in business, then check this one out.
🤓 Online Courses
You don’t have to wait until you’ve reached the last stage to start sharing what you’ve learned. Teach others as you discover things for yourself.
What tools do you need to run a successful cohort-based course?
The choice of tools to run a cohort-based course can be overwhelming and confusing. But, there’s something for every budget and level. Here’s an overview of your options.
📈 Productivity
That’s what’s missing in task managers, a start date for my tasks. Most of what I’m working on takes me more than a day to finish, and I want to keep it on the radar.
How I write my atomic essays in less than one hour
I didn’t anticipate that writing and publishing daily would be that much fun. This week, we passed the official half-way point of Ship30for30, and it was time to reflect on my daily writing process.
If you want to join the upcoming cohort of Ship30for30, which starts at the end of the month, use this link to get $20 off. I can highly recommend it!
Virtual hugs from sunny Toronto,

PS: Circling back to the icebreaker event, I honestly wasn’t really looking forward to attending it. I had already spent several hours on Zoom today and wanted to concentrate on writing this newsletter for you.
But my Zoom fatigue magically disappeared when I felt the energy in the room and got to talk to some seriously interesting people from around the world about topics like ….
Why Canadians are such nice people, our hidden talents like playing the banjo and making pigeon noises, and inventing your own boardgames.
Fun night!
