Don’t we all just want to get rich quickly?

Hi friends,

I had the privilege of visiting an extremely remote, secluded place last weekend. Part of the northern coast of the main island of Papua New Guinea is made up of fjords. The top of one fjord is home to Tufi Dive Resort and a local village. It can only be accessed by boat or air (the short runway being a dirt road).

We took a walk along the tiny path that led past the local houses. The residents don’t have electricity or running water. For food, they grow vegetables next to their homes and go fishing. The old lady I met on the path pointed proudly to her house, gave me a fist bump, laughed, and kept on walking.

Our lives couldn’t be more different. Suddenly, complaining when the wifi is slow or my favorite cereal isn’t available in the supermarket feels silly. A good reminder that we’re creating most problems ourselves by surrounding us with more stuff, obligations, and notifications.

Here’s what I want to share with you this week:

How to get rich (slowly) with honest, transparent marketing: Let’s be honest, don’t we all just want to get rich quickly – ideally without hard work involved. Well, it just doesn’t happen like that. Any marketing tactics that promise instant success are typically unsustainable and hurt your business in the long run. Luckily, some creators are taking a different route and are darn successful with it.

Your Actionable Copywriting Tip

Every line of copy is stronger when it can clearly answer two prompts:

  1. So what?
  2. Prove it!

What you say will always be better received when you 1) tell people why it matters to them and 2) support your statement with proof (as in testimonials, reviews, screenshots, videos, etc.)

Tool of the Week: OneTab Chrome Extension

Why is my laptop so slow? Mmmh, maybe because I have 4 Chrome windows with 13 tabs each open. OneTab saved my computer from crashing so many times. Clicking the OneTab icon converts all of your tabs into a list. When you need to access them again, you can restore them individually or all at once.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to reply with your thoughts or feedback. I’d love to hear from you!
